FAQ

Questions and answers

Clear answers to what clients ask before they start. Where a term is set case by case, the answer says so. For anything else, ask us directly.

Common concerns

Is the code written by AI?

Engineers write it with AI coding assistants, which handle much of the routine work. A senior engineer reviews every output, QA tests it, and you test it against the specification before you accept it.

What if we stop after one block?

You can. Each block stands on its own: you pay for the work you accepted, and the code, documentation and delivery note for that work are yours. There is no commitment to a second block.

What if we never accept the work?

Work that does not meet the signed specification is put right and tested again. Acceptance is judged against the specification you both signed, so the test is the same for both sides.

Where do our code and accounts live?

In accounts you own: your code repository, your cloud account, your domain and your app store listings. Credentials are handed over with the documentation at the end of each block.

How do we know the hours are real?

You see hours and deliverables against scope throughout the block, in progress updates and sync calls, and the delivery note lists the hours behind each accepted item.

The price

What does 2good.dev cost?

INR 199 or USD 2 an hour at the Prime tier, with a minimum of 150 hours. Plus is USD 5 an hour and Pro is USD 10 an hour, with INR on request. Every block also carries a USD 50 AI tool budget. Taxes are extra as applicable, including GST for Indian clients.

What is the smallest engagement?

One block of 150 hours. At Prime that is INR 29,850 or USD 300 before tax, plus the USD 50 AI tool budget.

How can the rate be this low?

AI now does much of the routine coding, much of the building is done by engineers trained in the Code Colonies on the job programme with a senior checking each stage, and we price close to cost.

Is review, testing and project management extra?

No. Senior technical review, testing and project management are inside every block at no extra charge.

What is the AI tool budget?

USD 50 per block, at every tier. It covers AI coding assistants, AI powered testing and the API usage needed for AI assisted delivery on your project.

Payment and acceptance

Do I pay anything in advance?

No. Nothing is paid to start, and you pay for work only after you have reviewed and accepted it.

What does accepting the work mean?

The signed Statement of Work says what done means. You test the delivered work against it. If it meets the specification, you accept it and the invoice follows.

What if the work does not meet the specification?

Then it is not accepted until it is put right, and you test it again against the same specification.

How long do I have to review, and when is payment due?

The review window and the payment terms after acceptance are set out in your specification or agreement, so each side knows them before work starts.

Scope and change

What if we change our minds halfway?

Changes are agreed in writing, and the specification is updated before the changed work is built. Where a change adds work, it is scoped into a block like everything else.

Can we change tier?

Yes, for each new block. Many projects start on Plus while the architecture is set, then move to Prime once the work becomes well defined.

Who pays for hosting, paid APIs and app store fees?

Third party costs such as hosting, paid APIs, licences and app store fees are agreed in writing before work starts.

The team and quality

Who actually does the work?

A small team in set proportions: junior, mid level and senior engineers, a QA engineer and a project manager. Junior engineers are graduates of the Code Colonies on the job training programme, run under AksharAI.

How is quality checked?

A senior reviews every output before it goes to QA, QA tests it, and you then test it against the specification before accepting it.

What do we get at the end of a block?

The code, the technical documentation and a delivery note for the block, along with the reporting on hours and deliverables against scope.

Code, contracts and tax

Who owns the code?

You do. Source code, documentation and intellectual property created for you belong to you on acceptance and payment. This is written into the Statement of Work.

Who is the contract with?

Code Colonies Private Limited. 2good.dev is the delivery model under which its technology and AI work is bought.

Is there GST?

Indian clients are charged GST on software services at the prevailing rate. For clients outside India, the GST position depends on whether the work qualifies as an export of services under GST law. Confirm your own position with your CA.

Is there a warranty period?

Any warranty or support period after acceptance is set out in your agreement. Ongoing maintenance can be bought as further blocks.

Clients outside India

Do you work with teams outside India?

Yes. International teams are one of the three groups 2good is built for. Prices are published in USD.

Which currency will we be invoiced in?

The invoicing currency is set out in your agreement.

Can we try you before moving more work?

Yes. Give us one piece of work alongside your current team and judge the result before moving more.
